Berty - In the case of ASDA MDC are not in the wrong.
MDC opposed the ASDA development, refused planning permission but lost on an appeal by ASDA.
In the agreement offered by ASDA when they were given planning permission they promised flood warnings (amongst other things).
One of the objections to the latest ASDA application is from the Environment Agency pointing out that ASDA haven't met that commitment and opposing any further development until they do on the grounds that they don't trust them to carry through their commitments.
Of course if ASDA does expand it may have space to sell jetskis . . . .

Although i like shopping at asda, how could mendip be so stupid in allowing developments on a flood plain?

Last night was a classic example of 4 hours rain=A362 CHAOS....

STILL building an extra 162 houses on a flooding area by the side of the old first and last pub.

Anyway--forget that @mendip.think of all that lovely council tax you will be raking in?
Should pay for your new NOT NEEDED offices in slumhole shepton eh?
Run by out side contractors like CAPITA!!!!!!!!
