It's time to think about planting bulbs in your Frome gardens

Where in Frome can you buy your garden supplies now that Slipps has closed? Where will you get your bulbs for spring? Where can you buy packets of seeds? How about plants for presents?

Have you noticed that you can buy daffodil bulbs from SK Fruits by the pound? Oh yes! I spotted these the other day & thought it was a great idea, so nice to see things unpackaged for a change.
Just round the corner is my favourite hardware shop, Millers, which also sells bulbs & seeds. Did you know that hyacinth bulbs can cause skin irritation?
Of course, on a Wednesday there is also the market, with two good plant stalls, or the WI's Country Market in the Cheese & Grain on a Thursday morning. If you do want to go further for a better selection, my dad's favourite place to take a trip is Barters in Chapmanslade, but you could also try Mead Nursery at Brokerswood.
The fall-back position is, of course Homebase where there is plenty of choice but its not exactly a local shop...
If your garden needs a complete makeover, or you need some equipment, you can go to a 'proper' garden designer or makeover company, try Chrysalis (who can do wildlife-friendly planting), based in Leigh-on-Mendip, or Westward Landscapes in Frome or check out the equipment at Oakley Garden Machinery. Longleat could help out with fencing posts or larger timber items.
Happy planning & planting.....
