Having recently been married I spent weeks and weeks researching all the very best venues our local area has to offer, Somerset really is god's country and the wealth of options vast, I have to warn you, the traditional don't come cheap so I have had a look at a few other alternative and more creative ideas so we suit all budgets.

The Traditional
Without a shadow of doubt the jewel in Fromes crown is Orchardleigh Golf Club. We have to warm you its isent the cheapest of venues, but its amazing, and after all you get what you pay for, with dwellings and a chapel on site, we recommend staying the entire weekend!
A slightly cheaper and a tiny bit more modern is the Mill at Rode, a lovely riverside venue and a decedent hotel Mill at Rode
Bohemian
Although a little out of Frome, we chose the fantastic Folly Farm in Pensford, a restored farm house and part of The Avon Wildlife Trust. Folly Farm is sustainable, environmentally sound and extremely resplendent and fab, In fact there is already an article on here about it, have a look: http://www.fromepeople.co.uk/groups/sustainability/Folly-Farm-Green-Weddings/story-6859815-detail/story.html
The Modern
How about having a decently priced wedding? We thought that maybe the rugby club would be a good option, they can seat up to 120 people and are worlds away in terms of cost, with the right decor company any space can look incredible Rugby Club.
Another fantastic option is the Masonic Hall at Frome, which can seat 120 http://directory.fromepeople.co.uk/event-services/frome-masonic-hall/1v8vf6w
The very kind people at Frome town council, have put together a list of other suitable venues, simply download from here Frome Town Council.
In the next few weeks we will have a look at places to do you hair/make up and wedding services...
