Arts Funding - Merlin Theatre have just heard they didn't get their Arts Council funding, a sad day for Frome. Which other organisations have heard about theirs?

I and other residents have been very surprised to see the Conservative Party leaflets claiming to support the Merlin Theatre, with two photos of it, one of
which is under the headline 'Supporting Local Theatres and Arts'.
This is despite both Somerset County and Mendip District councils (both Conservative) recently deciding to abolish ALL funding for local theatres and the arts including the Merlin.

As the Conservative leaflet is highly misleading, I would ask those responsible to change their leaflet, or rather, change their policy.
I am pleased that Lib Dems have proposed and would, if elected, restore an arts budget for Mendip to actually support local theatres and the arts, including the Merlin, to recognise their importance to the local economy and
community as creative hubs that bring visitors and business
in and help keep Frome vibrant.

In any case, I would encourage everyone to help support the Merlin Theatre.
