A Chilcompton man who was caught drink-driving will return before magistrates in Frome on January 14 after investigations are carried out to see if his medication affected the amount of alcohol in his body.
The court heard how Andrew Church, 42, from The White House, Stockhill Road, broke his back 15 years ago and since then has been on heavy medication.
Tests will be carried out to see if this medication will have had an impact the police reading, which were 78mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Church was released on unconditional bail and can continue to drive his car until a decision is made.
