Despite sharp showers the Frome Flea & Artisan Markets were bustling with activity, colour & creativity on Sunday.

Crowwman furniture spilled out into the street and Bramble & Wild were offering lovely posies in jars. The Little Red Cafe had its usual selection of hot chocolate, coffee and cake if you made it to the top, with Stardust Cafe also open on Stony Street.

Local food sellers were particularly popular with @DrHelenNicholas tweeting that she "Had the best handmade tortellini at St Catherine's Market on Sunday." I particularly liked the huge stack of cheeses on the corner of Stony Street.

Betty from Yorkshire said "the smells of food made us feel hungry & the ambience was infectious.  There were lots of beautiful things & nice, friendly people."

A Didgeridoo player gave rhythm to the central area and a pop-up shop selling beautiful clothes appeared for a couple of days on Paul Street. Jez was selling his lovely hand-made metal fire tongs, made in Badcox!  Sergeants the ironmongers, who stock Jez's tools, had a great display on the street and I indulged in a new washing line for £2.99! Sarah Godshill cards of Frome scenes were absolutely lovely.

In Market Yard car park an eclectic mix of furniture, household goods, crockery & clothes was available, with some gorgeous glassware. Definitely worth a trip. They happen on the first Sunday of the month from 10 am until 2pm until October, so the next one is on 4th September. Join the Facebook page here.

Had a lovrly browse & bought some of that glass you mentioned in the Flea. The rain made it more fun - cuddled up with some strange woman in a downpour! Everyone was really jolly.
