Archangel Frome is celebrating St George's Day all week with a special menu. They started the week with samples of typically English food being dished out in the streets whilst Points West filmed them for a short piece at 6.30pm on St George's Day (Monday 23rd April).

If you're quick you can still pop down and sample the free tasty food today (23rd April), which ranges from duck & relish to shredded pork, mini-burgers and Somerset blue cheese. Especially delicious are the gooseberry tarts with creme anglaise and the mini bread and butter puddings.
You can eat from the specially devised St George's Day menu all week. It includes starters of Salcombe crab, cherry-wood smoked duck breast and roast onion & cider soup. For mains you can sample slow braised shoulder of mutton with wild garlic & rosemary, rabbit, leek & guinea fowl pie or Dorset skate wing. Puds include warm Somerest apple & cider cake with clotted cream, citrus posset or West Country cheeses. Main courses start at £12.50.
You can see the full menu here. For more information on St George's Day campaigns see this website. Find St George's Day recipes here & read about St George himself here. He was a Roman soldier from Syria Palaestina and a soldier in the Guard of Diocletian.
